What is a birthmark or melasma?

Hormonal changes cause overproduction of melanin pigment . Especially during birth control pills and pregnancy, hormones are secreted more and this causes the formation of spots. This increase is especially seen in the sun-exposed forehead, cheek, lip, cheek and chin areas, and may increase in the same way  during each pregnancy.

Can stains develop due to drugs?

Some frequently used oral medications or some chemicals applied locally can cause spots to form on the body and face. Medications such as some creams, lotions and sprays used locally can also cause redness and staining in the area.

How do classic sunspots develop?

This situation, which occurs especially in people who are exposed to the sun directly and frequently,   shows itself in the form of thickening of our skin to protect itself and an increase in the pigment of the mela. In other words, when our skin is exposed to a lot of sun, it thickens to protect itself and its spots increase. It's a kind of defense mechanism.

What are freckles and lentigo?

Freckles are small spots of light or dark color on the cheeks, forehead and chin. It starts especially in spring and increases towards summer and decreases in cold seasons. While the name of the spots that develop due to the sun is solar lentigo, the name of the spots that appear with age is senile lentigo. These spots, which are sometimes light and sometimes dark, increase especially if there are systemic diseases and give the skin an aged appearance. after the spots are treated, the skin becomes younger  and has a fresh look.
