Capillary therapy

This phenomenon, which is very common in society, especially in light-skinned and wheat-skinned people, is the enlargement of fine vessels, enlargement of their diameter, and a red or purple appearance on the skin. Although it can settle anywhere on the body, it is most commonly seen on the face (cheek, nose, chin) and legs.

What are the causes of capillaries?

Most in the face area:

  • Trauma  and wrong practices

  • Exposure to excessive sun rays, hot cold interactions, sauna and steam for a long time, in those with fair skin and sensitive skin structure.

  • Alcohol, depression, chronic cortisone treatments

  • Genetic

  • rheumatic diseases

  • After some surgical operations, for example, after facial and nose surgeries

  • Systemic and metabolic diseases

The reasons for the formation of capillaries in the leg area are;

It is a more common event especially in women. In this case, the veins in the legs are genetically unable to pump the blood in the body enough to the heart, and the blood pools in the legs, especially due to gravity, and over time  causes thickening of these vessels, formation of capillaries and unwanted  color change. The reasons for this are

  • hereditary factors

  • pregnancy, trauma

  • getting older, standing for long periods of time, tight and tight clothing

  • high heel shoes

  • hormonal changes

What problems does capillary dilation cause?

If the capillaries in the legs are not treated, they will expand over time and cause pain. The capillaries on the face can cause sensitivity and facial redness in those areas.

Under appropriate conditions, capillary enlargement must be treated.

Is it possible to treat capillaries with laser? how to do

There are different treatment modalities in this regard according to the color, diameter and location of the capillaries . One of them is laser applications. In this method, the regions where there are capillaries are scanned with laser light. The dose of the laser is adjusted according to the capillary width and the region where it is placed.

How many  sessions does the capillary treatment with laser take? when is the result known?

The number of sessions completely changes according to the age of the person, skin type, width of capillaries and settlements. While the capillaries, which are common on the face and give a red appearance to the face, take at least 3 - 6  sessions, the lesions we call spider angioma  can disappear even in 1-2 sessions. Sessions are applied every 3-4 weeks and are usually the 1st. After the second session, the treatment results begin to appear. The expectation for treatment should not be the complete disappearance of the thin capillaries around the face and nose, but alleviation of the condition. Sometimes 3 - 7 sessions of laser application may be required for this purpose.

Sometimes several types of lasers can be used at the same time if there is widespread facial redness and capillary enlargement.

Especially in such cases, maintenance protection sessions may be required every 6 months for the prevention of recurrences and a successful result.

Does laser capillary treatment affect my work and social life?

The method is a very practical method and it takes 10 - 30 minutes on average  and does not affect your work and social life in any way.

Are there any side effects of capillary treatment with laser? What are the side effects?

When the applications are performed by specialist and experienced doctors, there are no side effects, because the laser doses are adjusted correctly and only a slight pinkish condition develops on the face after the treatment. If the treated area is a very large area , a slight edema may be seen after a few hours. In large veins, when the application is performed by people who do not have experience and expertise, it may cause scarring.

  • IPL laser
